The old blue ‘Waaltjes’ are old, recycled bricks. They were made in the 1940s when they were busy experimenting with the production of extruded bricks. The smooth surface allows the floor to be easy to maintain and the minor differences in size between the bricks gives them the appearance of a handmould. The grey-blue colour is pretty unique in Belgium and their slim size lets them be applied both in rural cottages and in modern dwellings. These ‘Waaltjes’ create a magnificent colour range of blue and grey.
